There have been many added or raised since this list was made. If many of these were removed, government would have to learn to spend with a realistic budget. We could even remove all of them and go to a state sales tax to cover everything. This way anyone spending in the state will pay their portion of the services they use.
We also need to stop the punishment of the businesses in Minnesota, be it small businesses or large corporations. We need to remember that there are no taxes to pay for the precious pork programs and social programs if there are no jobs or companies located here.
We have already seen companies, like 3M, move jobs elsewhere. The state of Minnesota needs to be pro-business, or the economy and way of life we are used to will deteriorate until our community resembles other high-tax communities where crime is out of control. Let's help companies stay in Minnesota because, in the end, we are helping ourselves.
