2 Much Tax

Coon Rapids Lions Parade

Another banner day was turned in by the Buchholz Volunteer Committee.  Even with the 4th of July holiday upon us, the volunteers came out in droves to help promote our agenda of lower taxes through fiscal responsibility.  Check out the slideshow below to see the pics from the event.

2008 Jason Lewis Tax Cut Rally at the Capitol

This event started at high noon on Saturday, the 12th of April.  Once again, it was time to be heard in St Paul.  Jason Lewis, Rep. Michele Bachmann, Rep. John Kline, House Minority Leader Marty Seifert, Phil Krinkie, Jeff Davis and others rallied the Tax Cut Coalition in support of getting government off our backs.  You can find the link to the rally here.

Below are some pics from the rally.  Al Gore predicted "Global Warming" for us and we sure got it.  Temps dropped and it began to snow.  People had a great time and sent a clear message to the marble palace....."Stop wasting our money!"

District 47 GOP Social special guest: Phil Krinkie

Mass Transit in America is the automobile because it is how the masses really move.

The monthly GOP district 47 social was held on March 28th at Sammy Perrella's in Brooklyn Park.  Special guest speaker was past Representative Phil Krinke, now President of the Taxpayers League of Minnesota.  "Doctor No," as Phil was known while in the legislature, gave a great talk on the DFL legislature's new outrageous plan to loot your pockets.

The legislature is trying to establish a new organization similar to the Met Council, which will compete with the Met Council for your tax dollars.  This new council will be responsible solely for "new" mass transit projects.  Since the buses and roads are already in existence, I guess this means "rail only" projects.  The last time I checked, the Met Council already costs the taxpayers of Minnesota a fortune.  Why in the world would the DFL run legislature look to put us all on the hook again?  The answer is simple, more rail projects for the urban smart growth crowd.

"SD47A Endorses Troy Buchholz"

Dear Residents of Senate District 47A:

My name is Troy Buchholz, and I am running as the endorsed Republican candidate in Senate District 47A.  I am a simple family man.  My wife, children, and strong convictions are my life assets.  My home needs painting, I work a regular job every day, and I live a pride-filled life.

As a simple man, I want to bring back accountability to our state government and elected representatives.  For too long, working families of Minnesota have lost the fruits of their labor to high taxes and over-spending.  And more recently, our own state representative has joined the DFL in forcing higher taxes onto Champlin-Coon Rapids voters without a voice during uncertain economic times.  Simply put, our elected representatives must practice budgetary principles that my family and other Champlin-Coon Rapids families experience every week at their kitchen table.

Moreover, I believe that politicians are slowly eroding other freedoms.  Accountability in educational spending, efficient healthcare, transportation, health and human services, and illegal immigration enforcement are being derailed by special interests; outside influences acting selfishly, not in the interests of Champlin-Coon Rapids residents.  We need real change.

Being I am a simple man, I believe that the success of a campaign is in its candidate.  Money and influence from outside political action groups or big unions should not be the major factors on the outcome.  The campaign should be comprised of local volunteers with a limit on spending.  My DFL challenger spent nearly $100,000 in a previous election cycle to win.

Let us make politics local.  Let us earn the voters' trust and vote the simple way, by door knocking, attending parades, having frequent debates and special community events.  So, I am publicly asking my challenger; "Will you refuse the money and influences of any political action groups and special interest organizations?"  I will earn the trust of Senate District 47A residents in simple farm life terms; hard work, honesty, respect, and integrity in being your state representative.

Sincerely,

Troy Buchholz

Champlin, MN

February 5th, 2008    - Republican Caucus District 47

I would personally like to thank all those who came out for the GOP caucus.  It was very encouraging to hear from the people that I hope to serve.  Turnout went far beyond what was expected and the entire crowd was very energized.  I look forward to being endorsed at the convention March 1st and then beinning the long run to the November elections.  Please keep in mind that my candidacy really needs your support, both from a financial and a volunteer perspective.  You can reach me by clicking the Contact link at the top of this page.  If you would like a yard sign, I will be starting that process after receiving the GOP endorsement.
