Another Conservative Voice needed in Washington:
Troy Buchholz spent some time this summer helping out the Erik Paulsen Campaign. Erik is a rock solid conservative voice needed in Washington.

Why shouldn't Minnesota put America and Americans first?
In the State of Minnesota, liberal legislators have done everything in their power to see that people that are here illegally get even more benefits from our government than before. In my issues tab, I discuss putting America first in detail.
The Wright County Republican Blogspot is a great resource for additional information on this topic.
The only people who have a right to government services are American citizens and those who have valid green cards/visas. Taxpayers are being forced to foot the bill for services consumed by those who broke the law as their first order of business in this country. I am sure most Americans would not expect another country to give an American benefits if they were to illegally enter another country. Why should we do just that for those who enter the United States illegally?

What does MN State Senator Larry Pogemiller have to say about the taxpayer?
State Senator Larry Pogemiller believes that the government can spend your money better than you can. He has said this clearly and publicly. Click here to hear his own words on the subject.
Too many Democrats at the state legislature hold this opinion. We should all be shocked and appalled to hear his opinion on your ability to spend your own money.

Minnesota 2020 rips on Tax Freedom Day
The liberal think tank Minnesota 2020, led by Democrat Matt Entenza, is now claiming that our quality of life gives government the right to more of your money.
Click here to see when Minnesotans can officially start keeping the fruits of their own labor.
Groups like Minnesota 2020 claim that we have a higher take home after Tax Freedom Day and somehow this entitles the government to take more money from us. This sounds a lot like socialism or communism. The two should not be related at all.
The government should get a budget to live within and have to live with it, not decide what they want to spend and hand us the bill. I can't imagine going to my boss and saying that based on what I plan to spend this year, he needs to give me a raise and I am going to tell him how much. This does not work in the real world and it is time to put some of these "Capitol Spenders" back out in the real world.
We should be letting people keep even more of their own money, reducing the size of government, and showing the rest of the country what freedom and prosperity is really all about.

February 2008 - Minnesota Climate Change Advisory Group Report Out - Surprise
The Minnesota Climate Change Advisory Group has put out its final report. As you would expect from a group hijacked by a political cause, it is fraught with misleading information and bad accounting. "The Sky is Falling Again" is on a billboard outlined by the group GlobalClimateScam.com and shows how the liberals continually hijack unsubstantiated theories as a reason for government control and intervention in our daily lives. From the "Ice Age" scare of the seventies to the "Global Warming" or rather "Global Climate Change" scare of today, the push for more government control is in full swing once again.
Click here to see some of the holes in the Climate Change Advisory Group's report.

April 2008 - Prayer in Some Schools Okay?
Whenever "God" or "prayer" is mentioned at a public school or public place, there is outrage from the ACLU and the liberals. I personally think that we could use more religion in our schools and less pop culture. The following story link shows the Minnesota Department of Education's willingness to accept religion in some schools, but not in others. Where is the great and wonderful ACLU when there is a public school strongly pushing a religious agenda? If we are going to allow this, it should be allowed at any school. Click here for the whole story.

March 2008 - Legislative Poll Released
It looks as though the DFL-run legislature and its tax-increasing ways have struck a nerve with the voters. The legislature has a 58% negative rating. Sixty-three percent of voters also opposed the recent tax increase.
The link below will take you to the poll results that show a vast majority of Minnesotans who were not in favor of the tax increases or the override of the governor's veto.
The DFL majority has lost touch with most Minnesotans. The people of Minnesota want the state government to show fiscal responsibility in difficult times rather than just raising their taxes anytime they want to spend money. The problem is that the legislature is not hearing the people. You can find the poll here.

March 2008 - Bonding Bill Disaster! (Pork)
Once again the Democratic majority in the State Legislature went ape. They decided to put billions of dollars in pork spending on the backs of the voters and taxpayers in uncertain economic times. One of the out-of-touch expense items was $11 million in spending on two zoo exhibits.
It is time these representatives and senators are held accountable for wasting your hard-earned money on non-essential pork projects. Call your representative and let your voice be heard. Let it also be heard in November. We should not be bonding pork projects. Remember, there was a surplus in the state's account just a short time ago.

(St. Paul) For Immediate Release
Seifert Amendment on Illegal Immigration Fails by One Vote
Representative Marty Seifert (R-Marshall) came up one vote short on an amendment to a bill that would have taken local aid away from cities that prohibit their law enforcement officers from inquiring about the legal status of people detained by police.
Currently, Minneapolis and St. Paul disallow their police officers from inquiring about the status of people detained for violations of the law. Reports of illegal aliens using the two cities as "safe harbors" have come to light since the cities adopted the ordinances some years ago.
"Something needs to be done to bring sanity to this insane system," Seifert said.
Seifert's amendment failed 66-67, with DFLers keeping the voting board open and urging their members to vote against the measure. All of Seifert's fellow Republicans voted for the amendment, while all votes in opposition were DFLers. Seifert was able to persuade 18 DFLers to vote with him, but it wasn't enough.
Seifert said he would try to attach measures to restrict illegal immigration to any bills that would relate to the topic.
Roll Call vote failed 66-67.

November 2007
Veteran's Day Remembered
On this Monday, the 12th of November, let us remember all those who have ever worn a U.S. military uniform. Every one of those past and present "Protectors of Freedom" deserve our support and remembrance. Coming from a military family, I cannot express in words how proud I am of our military. My father, and many other people who have served, have guided me and given me the strongest feeling of patriotism through their service. Even though respect was never demanded by my father , he deserves and gets it all the same. Our military is the first organization asked to step in anytime there is a catastrophe anywhere in the world. God Bless every one of you and thank you for your service.

Man-made Global Warning?
Weather Channel founder, John Coleman, recently had this to say about man-made global warming:
"It is the greatest scam in history. I am amazed, appalled and highly offended by it. Global Warming; It is a SCAM. Some dastardly scientists with environmental and political motives used data to create an allusion of rapid global warming. Other scientists of the same environmental whacko type jumped into the circle to support and broaden the "research" to further enhance the totally slanted, bogus global warming claims. Their friends in government steered huge research grants their way to keep the movement going. Soon they claimed to be a consensus. "
He obviously has knowledge and experience being a meteorologist who has studied the subject in detail. There are other experts who have shown this to be a natural cycle and completely normal. Why the fuss then? This is another way for government to get even more control over us and business through taxes. This is reminiscent of the "Ice Age is Coming" controversy drummed up by these same environmental groups in the 1970's. Just more hype to cause panic and get the voters to give up more of their hard earned money to fix a problem no one can prove exists. Why is the solution for the "Ice Age Panic" and "Global Warming Panic" exactly the same? It has always been about taxes and control and not about saving the environment.
Click here to see John Coleman's excerpts.

Click here to go to GreatGlobalWarmingSwindle.com. Their movie uses facts, not scare tactics as Al Gore does, to show that solar rays(sunspots) affect clouds on earth and cause the heating and cooling. CO2 is an effect of a warming earth and not the cause. Science proves this through ice core samples. We have had much colder and much warmer times prior to the industrial age. It is time to pull back the religion of greenhouse gas and global warming.
U.S. Senate Committee reports that 400 prominent scientists disputed man-made global warming claims last year. Click here to see the article.
